Havgul and Norwegian sun developer Scatec Solar AS have agreed on starting a joint development company, Scatec Energy LLC, focusing on the development of combined wind and sun projects in the USA. There are several states with excellent conditions for both wind and sun energy in the USA. The first joint development will be 200 MW out of Havgul’s wind site in northern Texas, called Mariah Nort-West. The company will be lead by former RES project manager James Scott.

We are enthusiastic about this new venture together with the experienced international sun developer Scatec Solar. We will save development costs per developed MW and be able to deliver combined projects and PPA’s to the market” says Havgul’s CEO Ketil Reed Aasgaard.
